About Us

The American Fruit & Vegetable Coalition (AFV) is a collective force dedicated to the farming, processing, and distribution of fruits and vegetables across the United States. Comprising American family farmers, packers, processors, and essential components of the processed fruits and vegetables supply chain, AFV plays a vital role in ensuring over 95% of all shelf-stable American fruits and vegetables find their place on grocery shelves nationwide.

Our industry is more than just a contributor to the American economy; it's a cornerstone of the nation's food supply. We take pride in providing nutritious, affordable food to families from all walks of life, with a special focus on supporting low- and fixed-income Americans, food banks, and the lunchrooms of our schoolchildren. As we strive to create a healthier, more sustainable future, we stand at the forefront of the fruit and vegetable processing industry, representing approximately ten percent of all domestic food manufacturing, with annual sales ranging from $18 to $23 billion.

In the vast landscape of the American manufacturing base, our industry is a critical player, constituting around 15% of the total manufacturing sector. With over 30,000 plants and 1.5 million American jobs, we recognize the profound impact we have on the nation's workforce and economic stability.

Our group champions the issues that matter most to the AFV membership. From addressing steel tariffs on our food cans to navigating federal food and nutrition programs and actively participating in the crucial 2023 Farm Bill negotiations, AFV is your voice on Capitol Hill.

As we navigate the complexities of the ever-evolving food industry and agriculture sector, the American Fruit & Vegetable Coalition stands united in its commitment to the well-being of our nation.

Join us in cultivating a healthier, more sustainable future for all Americans.
